Glasses, glasses, glasses!

FranklinGlasses, glasses, glasses! You see them everyday, and almost everybody has them. Have you ever stopped to wonder why, how, and who made them?

Benjamin Franklin was one of the many inventors that has influenced our daily lives, only he invented the bifocal lenses.

In the 1700’s, Benjamin Franklin was aging, and was having trouble seeing close and far, and kept on switching between close-up and far-away glasses. It was then when he decided to make the bifocals.

Glasses were originally made out of polished quartz, but Benjamin Franklin asked someone else to cut the glass for him, then cut two pairs of lenses. He then glued the one of one lense to the bottom of another.

1 Corinthians 13:12 it says, ” For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. ” That is talking about how our sinful nature blinds our eyes, but then if He chooses to reveal Himself,  we can see him face-to-face.

One of the reasons why we need glasses, is because we are blind, and our eyes are corrupt. According to Answers.com, a good majority of the people that need glasses, watch too much TV and play too many video games.

With that said, keep your eyes not on screens, but on God, the Creator of the Universe, who created your eyes to look at Him.
