Michelangelo was one of the most famous artist and sculptor in the Renaissance period. He is known for his amazing sculptures and his complex art work.

Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese, Italy.  Growing up he was less interested in schooling, he enjoyed watching painters nearby the church, and painting what he observed. His paintings were very realistic, he used dark colors in his creations.

One of his most famous painting was painted in the Sistine chapel. He painted over 300 Bible characters. He described this process as ” back breaking”. It took Michelangelo about four years to paint this piece . Sources tell us that he worked standing for about eight hours a day six days a week. Finally, after twenty-eight months of work he took a break. He completed his mural in the church in 1512. Although this was a very long process he did it for God’s glory. Michelangelo stated ” Lord I grant that I may always desire more than i accomplish”

The Sistine chapel attracts million of tourist each year because of its gorgeous interior work. People describe Michelangelo painting as “ the greatest living artist in his lifetime”

We all have different talents that God has blessed us with, it is our  choice on how we are going to use our talents. Will God be glorified through the actions we take? I think Michelangelo is a wonderful example to us, he used his talents to glorify the Lord, and although sometimes serving the Lord is hard, he never gave up. so my question is What is your talent? and How will you use it to glorify the Lord?
