Jesus. No sweeter name than this. He came down as a child. Why? So that He could relate to His people and save them.
By age twelve, He was teaching in the temple. That would be like our average skinny jeans, iPhone clad teenager suddenly come to church and start preaching. (We would know then that their parents were doing something right.) But to be able to preach in the temple? That just shocked me. Teaching in big places like temples require tons of discipline, integrity, and maturity that is lacking in most of our present generation. But when Jesus stood up, and taught, it inspired me. I want to be able to get up and talk about something, and passionately.
Jesus, going up and preaching told me that something was also wrong with our current generation. Our fault being: we’re too lazy to do anything. I can tell. At school, kids act like its a playground, and their character towards the teachers follows. It amazes me that kids would act foolishly, and not respect the gift they’ve been given, to talk about our faith, and openly, just as Jesus did.
Integrity is also lacking in school children. We aren’t honest, and we do not have strong moral values. Proverbs 2:20-21 states, “So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it.”
I truly hope that our present generation matures and becomes godly. I can only pray that I help by doing my part.
For you reader, I guess what I’m trying to say is: grow up. Mold into the man or woman God has called you to be. For those of you who have passed this stage gracefully, help the others, who are falling prey. Help them, because they need it most.
If you love Christ, you love what He loves, His children.
