Our Varsity Girls played one heck of a game against Head Royce at Oracle Area last Tuesday. It was a nail-biter as our girls came back from behind to beat Head Royce 50-40. Our home crowd rocked the area with cheers and cries of support, we asked Coach McGrath her thoughts on this great game and she had this to say, “It was awesome. Having the fans cheer as loud as possible, and I thought that it was an amazing experience to play on the same court as the Warriors.”

It’s been many years since our Lady Eagles beat Head Royce. Being able to defeat them at Oracle Arena in front of a huge home crowd made the win that much sweeter.

When asked how their season has been going Coach McGrath responded with, “We struggled at first, and I’m hoping that the win at Oracle will spring into a winning season.”

She has many highlights for this season, but seeing players spring into action, ready to help and support one another no matter what is her biggest highlight of their season.

Thinking about playing basketball next year? Here’s some advice from the coach. “I’m trying to change the way people see Redwood Christian basketball, and make it seem humble and pressing on. Try out if you care about it and have passion for it.”

The Lady Eagles have a home game this Friday, so go out and support your girls!
