Light on the Feet – Kickin’ It With Paul Romero

By Preston Hart – Talon Staff Writer

Paul Romero the soccer star.

Literally.

He has the characteristics of the Star of Bethlehem. Paul is a person who leads the middle- school soccer team to victory, as the Star of Bethlehem did the three wise men to Jesus.

Paul is 12 years old, and he has been playing soccer for eight years. His favorite position is forward. He loves to play soccer because he is a very fast runner with a lot of stamina, so he is in a position which brings out those gifts.

Paul also said he likes to play soccer because he has very good footwork when it comes to juggling the ball. Paul originally got into soccer because of his parents. At first he was very fast but he didn’t have that good of control with his feet. Right now he plays for Sacramento California North Stars.

See? I told you he was literally a soccer “star”!

Paul is looking forward to getting a scholarship to a good school with his soccer skills, but also runs in Cross Country well and that helps him a lot at being a very good soccer player.

As 2 Timothy 2:15 says, ”Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” This reminds me of my friend Paul since the apostle Paul wrote this verse directly to Paul. Don’t let people put you down because God created you in His image.
