Help! I Can’t Stop Eating Cheetos!

squirrel with cheetosWell, well. Cheetos indeed! Fire Lane was recently asked what to do if one is addicted to Cheetos!

Hi FoodAddict. First off, I do not think you should eat Cheetos while typing. You will get Cheeto crumbs everywhere on your keyboard. Second thing, Cheetos give you Cheeto stains on your fingers and I know that you are not a fan of dirty, sticky fingers so that is a good reason to stop eating them.

Let me give you some nutritional facts about Cheetos that might get you to neglect them. One 1 ounce bag of Cheetos contains 150 calories, 90 of which are from fat. There are 10 grams of total fat and 1.5 grams of saturated fat. There’s also 250 milligrams of sodium and 13 grams of total carbohydrates. A positive is that they contain 2 grams of protein. There’s a good percentage of Thiamin and Riboflavin as well.

I admit Cheetos are a yummy snack, but they are not the healthiest choice. Stop eating Cheetos to avoid sticky fingers! And start a healthier diet with some fruits and vegetables! You can have Cheetos on your cheat day, which is a day where you can eat whatever you want once a week.

And of course, it’s also good to pray and ask God to help you with food struggles. Jesus Himself said “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Sometimes fasting from your “favorite” snack might be a good idea.

Ask God to give you the strength not to eat Cheetos for a while and again, substitute them with fruit, vegetables, or real cheese, along with other foods rich in fiber content.

You can also ask your friends, family and teachers to help keep you accountable whenever you feel the cravings.

Hope that helps!

FIRE LANE out!
